You don’t always have to beat daylight if you know where the birds are when spring turkey hunting. We got a late start, took our time, and headed into a spot that’s never been turkey hunted before. One tag left each, middle of the day, no pressure, just easing in and seeing what might happen. We set up, put the decoy out, made a few calls… and they answered. A few gobbles, then everything went quiet. And if you turkey hunt, you already know, when they go quiet like that, they’re either gone or they’re coming! These were coming. They popped out of the corner, locked onto the decoy, and it happened fast. Midday Georgia gobblers are doing exactly what they do when the time is right! Two gobblers down in Georgia, tagged out and headed to the fishing hole!
